President Maithripala Sirisena has instructed that his photographs should be used for publicity purposes only on special occasions which have high news value and not on any other occasions.
The President has informed the Ministry of Mass Media to instruct all media institutions to refrain from broadcasting speeches and photographs of President Maihripala Sirisena, unnecessarily.
Also exhibiting large cut outs, posters, banners and digital advertisements carrying the President’s photographs by the road sides should be discouraged. (KH)
