    Dr. Wickrema Weerasooria appointed as Presidential Adviser on Banking and Finance

    Dr. Wickrema Weerasooria,the current Insurance Ombudsman, has been appointed  as the Presidential Adviser on Banking and Finance, Racial Harmony and Media Freedom.

    Dr. Weerasooria was the Secretary to the then Ministry of Plan Implementation  in 1977 under the J R Jayawardene Government. 
     
    Dr. Weerasooria has written more than 15 text books on Banking and Law and was a Professor at the prestigious Monash University in Australia.". .
