President Maithripala Sirisena will make an inspection tour of the Moragahakanda Multi Purpose irrigation project. It was launched during the period he was the minister of irrigation.
The US D 382 million project will provide drinking water facilities for the people in Anuradhapura, Trincomalee and Matale districts. It will comprise the generation of 25 megawatts of electricity to the national grid under this project. Further, it will also control the flood threat in the low lying areas in the Polonnaruwa district.
