    Today's challenges are also tomorrow's opportunities - President in Siyane Korale Featured

    The need of the hour is to meet our targets to the best of our abilities without wasting time thinking of the challenges of tomorrow, President Maithripala Sirisena said.

    The President further said that he would serve the people and the country irrespective of political affiliations and assured to work with dedication to take the nation forward.

     

    President Maithripala Sirisena was addressing a felicitation ceremony held at the Nittambuwa Public Grounds on Sunday (08) to express his gratitude to the people of Siyane Korale in Gampaha for their contribution to his victory. The ceremony was organized by the former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

     

    The President also noted that Siyane Korale which is a sacred area for politics has produced the leaders of the country's main political parties like former Prime Ministers D.S.Senanayake and S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike.

     

    The people of Siyane Korale also presented mementos to President Maithripala Sirisena and the former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga.

     

    Among the participants were Ministers Arjuna Ranatunga, John Amaratunga, M.K.D.S.Gunawardena, Parliamentarians Pandu Bandaranaike, Sudarshani Fernandopulle and Ajith Mannapperuma as well as political representatives of the district.
