The President Maithripala Sirisena opened a drinking water project at Pelatiyewe area which is affected by kidney disease due to scarcity of drinking water. 640 families at Pelatiyewe in Dimbulagala were affected for a long time due to lack of drinking water.
Authorities did not take action to recommence abandoned drinking water projects despite many people becoming victims of kidney disease.
Therefore, the people commended President Maithripala Sirisena for taking steps to speed up the water project at Pelatiyewe to provide drinking water to the people.
