Former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa who returned to the island on April 21 was arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigations Division over financial fraud in the Divi Naguma Department. He was remanded until May 5.

Parliament has approved three (03) months leave for MP Basil Rajapaksa commencing from today(28) based on a proposal made by Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala De Silva.
