    93 naval personnel take part in 12th South Asian Games representing Sri Lanka

    Ninety-three sports personnel of the Sri Lanka Navy are taking part in the 12th South Asian Games held from 05th to 16th February 2016 in Guwahati and Shillong, India. They represent Sri Lanka in table tennis (1), athletics (9), football (8), cycling (2), kabaddi (6), archery (1), triathlon (2), swimming (3), handball (11), taekwondo (2), wushu (7), judo (2), wrestling (5), musketry (10), boxing (1), weight lifting (4), volleyball (5), hockey (9), basketball (3) and kho kho (2).

    This multi-national sports event is held among the athletes of the South Asian countries in various locations across the region. The event is presently joined by the eight South Asian countries namely Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. A total of 2,672 athletes are scheduled to compete in 228 events constituting 23 sports.
