    August 18, 2014

Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 105 runs in the 2nd and final test within one hour after commencing the match this morning.

A 2-0 win in Mahela Jayawardena's final series in the presence of his fans and team-mates - current and former, his family was a fitting farewell to Mahela after a brilliant career of 17 years. The firecrackers were set alight the moment Wahab Riaz top-edged a sweep off Rangana Herath to become the bowler's 14th wicket in the match.

Within minutes of the final Pakistan wicket, the entire team  took turns to carry him around the ground as the Sri Lankan national anthem played in the background.

    Sri Lanka 320 (Tharanga 92, Junaid 5-87) and 282 (Sangakkara 59, Jayawardene 54, Wahab 3-76, Ajmal 3-89) beat Pakistan 332 (Sarfraz 103, Herath 9-127) and 165 for 9 (Sarfraz 55, Herath 5-57 ) by 105 runs.(KH)
