    Sri Lanka moves up to 4th place in the ICC Test Rankings

    Sri Lanka moved up to the 4th position in the ICC Test Rankings from 6th and Pakistan lost their 4th position to Sri Lanka and went down to 6th.


    South Africa is top of the ICC test ranking and 2nd position taken by Australia. England is placed on 3rd. India has been placed 5th which is  below  Sri Lanka.

     

    Sri Lankan skipper Angelo Mathews has been ranked third in the ICC Test Batting ranking following his remarkable batting performance. While Mathews previously held the number 5 position in the rankings, veteran batsman Kumar Sangakkara stands at the top of the batting rankings.


    Left arm spinner Rangana Herath who bagged a total 23 wickets in the series against Pakistan, breaking the record of most number of wickets in a test series of 22 wickets previously held by spin wizard Muttiah Muralitharan, now stands at number 3 in the ICC test bowling rankings.


    Before achieving this milestone Rangana Herath was ranked number 5. South Africa’s Dale Steyn head the bowling rankings.
