This decision was arrived at a meeting of the Poson festival committee presided by the Anuradhapaura Government Agent at the Anuradhapura District Secretariat Auditorium.

Meat and liquor sales will be banned in the Anuradhapura district during the
Poson Week.

All arrangements will be made to provide essential facilities suchas food, water, electricity and public transport service with the cooperation of the North Central Provincial Council and local authorities as a large crowd is expected to visit Anuradhapura for Poson.

Chief priest of Swarnamali Maha Chaithya Ven. Pallegama Hemarathana Nayaka Thera was also present.
