    A landslide warning for several districts has been issued Disaster Management Center in the context of the continued heavy rains.According to the warning, Kiriella, Kalawana, Ratnapura, Eheliyagoda divisional secretariat divisions and surrounding areas in Ratnapura District, Ambagamuwa divisional secretariat division and surrounding areas in Nuwaraeliya District, Warakapola and Dehiowita divisional secretariat divisions and surrounding areas in Kegalle District are prone to landslides.

    No opportunity will be given to put downthe Sri Lankan Freedom Party (SLFP) and if anyone attempts to do so, there will be no hesitation to demonstrate the strength of the Party said President Maithripala Sirisena while adding that the Party will adopt a method in the future that will be acceptable to both the Party and its supporters. President made these comments addressing the District Convention of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party held in Ratnapura yesterday (15).

    The Armour-Baber junction in Kotahena has been flooded due to the prevailing heavy rains, stated the Police Media Spokesperson.Motorists traveling through the area, especially on smaller vehicles, are requested to use alternative routes, stated the Police.Heavy rainfall of about 150 mm is expected in several districts around the country. According to the Meteorology Department, the prevailing rainy conditions will most likely continue in the next few days.
