    Ambassador Kongahage visits Swiss Canton of Neuchatel

    On the invitation of the President of the Swiss Confederation, Didier Burkhalter, the diplomatic corps accredited in Switzerland undertook a visit recently to the canton of Neuchatel in Switzerland. Ambassador Sarath Kongahage, who is concurrently accredited to Switzerland took part in the visit.

    From the Swiss capital Berne, the visiting delegation of diplomats traveled to Neuchatel, where they met local dignitaries, and visited the Institute of Micro-Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Lausanne operating in Neuchatel. During the visit, Ambassador Kongahage requested officials of the institute to explore the possibilities of  investment in Sri Lanka.

    After a lunch hosted by the Swiss President, the diplomats visited the clock-manufacturing city of La Chaux de Fonds. During a meeting with officials of the La Chaux de Fonds, Ambassador Kongahage briefed them on the economic-friendly environment of Sri Lanka for manufacturing companies in the island.
