Dept. of Railways extends validity period of season tickets

    March 30, 2014

The validity period of railway season tickets issued for public employees has been extended.

Accordingly the validity period of the season tickets issued for public workers for the month of March 2014 has been extended for four days from the month of April. Normally season tickets issued were valid only for two days after the expiry date. But the Department of Railways said that this period has now been extended to four days.

Accordingly, all public employees who possess season tickets will now enjoy the privilege of travelling for four  days after its expiry.

The Department of Railways has taken this decision to avoid congestion at Railway Stations due to the demand to secure state sponsored season tickets and private season tickets at the same time.
