    Uva PC Election 2014: Accepting of Postal Vote applications ends on August 6

    The acceptance of applications for postal voting of the Uva provincial council election will end on the 6th of next month. Elections Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya said that the deadline for the acceptance of postal voting will not be extended under any circumstances.


    All government employees engaged in election duties in the administrative districts of the Uva provincial council are eligible to cast postal votes. However, public servants who are registered voters in the Uva province but engaged in services in other provinces of the country are not entitled to postal voting, says the Elections Commissioner issuing a press release.


    The Elections Commissioner also says that the certifying officials should personally inspect on the identity of postal voting applicants before issuing the relevant certificates.(ST/KH)
