    Visiting Tanzanian Foreign Minister inks two MoUs

    Bernard Kamillius Membe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Tanzania signed MoUs during the Media conference held in Ministry of External Affairs on Monday (21)  further enhancing the bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Tanzania.

    A MoU on Sustainable Coconut Research and Development was signed by Minister Bernard Membe, on behalf of the Tanzanian Government and A.P.Jagath Pushpakumara Minister of Coconut Development and Janatha Estate Development, on behalf of Sri Lankan Government.

    Sri Lanka also inked an agreement on Bilateral Political Consultations with a view to increase strong political relationships between the two countries.  The agreement was signed by Minister Bernard Membe and Professor Gamini Lakshman Peiris , Minister of External Affairs, Sri Lanka

    Another agreement on the Establishment of Joint Commission for Cooperation was signed by the both of counterparts of Ministers Foreign Affairs of two countries.

    After the bilateral meeting and signing of the MoUs  thethe Tanzanian Foreign Minister met President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Temple Tree.

    Minister Bernard Membe and his delegation will depart to Tanzania on Tueaday (22). (SDF/KH)
