    Tanzanian Foreign Minister meets Minister Basil Rajapaksa Featured

    Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade C-operation, Bernard K Membe, presently in Sri Lanka on a tree day visit, met with the Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa on Monday ( 21) and had discussions on strengthening bilateral economic relations.


    At the discussion held at the Ministry of Economic Development, Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade C-operation, Bernard K Membe expressed his pleasure over the rapid development achieved by Sri Lanka within a short period after cessation of a terrorist war. He stated that Sri Lankan knowledge and experience are vital for the upliftment of their industries, especially with regard to the development of the coconut industry in Tanzania.

    Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa offered maximum co-operation from Sri Lanka to strengthening bilateral economic relations.

     

    Dr. Nihal Jayatilake, Secretary to the Ministry of Economic Development and Bhaswara Senanka, Chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority were among the participants on this occasion. (ST/KH)
