He said that 300 Lak Sahosa outlets have started selling high standard essential consumer items at concessionary prices without any shortage.
The Minister said that certain private traders have already started to create an artificial shortage of essential items and there is no such shortage in the country. He said raiding of trading outlets that sell outdated, unhygienic and adulterated food items will be continuously carried out by the Consumer Services Authority of his Ministry and stern legal action will be taken against the owners of such outlets and against traders who hide essential food items.
The Minister said that essential items could be purchased wholesale from private traders as well. (niz)
