    "Stand Together for the Country" Program held at Monaragala Featured

    The District Secretariat Monaragala declares that, 5th program of "Stand Together for the Country" National Development Program is being inaugurated by the District Secretariat today, 1st July in cooperation with Presidential Secretariat. The program that designed to address the needs of people at the rural level will cover 11 divisional secretariats solving unsettled problems and will be in action till 6 July.The program covers 319 Grama Niladhari Divisions in the Moneragala District over 11 Divisional Secretariats areas including Monaratala, Thanamalwila, Madulla, Kataragama, Buttala, Badalkumbura, Wellawaya, Medagama, Siyambalanduwa, Bibila and Sevanagala.

    A number of Programs will be implemented by the Presidential Secretariat, under the major national programs namely the National Kidney Prevention Program, the Grama Shakthi Program, the National Environmental Protection Program, the Save the Children Program, the National Drug Prevention Program, Persons with special Needs and Elderly Community Empowerment Program, Smart Sri Lanka Program and National Food Production Program.

    In addition, respective Line Ministries, Departments and the Uva Provincial Council have taken steps to launch special programs to address the problems of agriculture, housing and land, occupational and health issues directly affecting the people and to implement development activities in the fields. Accordingly, 101 programs are being implemented by the Presidential Secretariat today, the opening day of the program. Uva Provincial council carry out 37 programs and 271 programs are being implemented by different line Ministries, Departments and Statutory Boards..     The "Stand together for the Country" National Program for the benefit of 479,000 people in the Moneragala District will be held over the week and the Progress Review Program is scheduled to be held on July 6, 2019 under the patronage of His Excellency the President Maithreepala Sirisena.
