Cuban Foreign Minister arrives in the country Featured

    September 07, 2014

Foreign Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla arrived in the country this morning (07) for a two-day official visit.

The visit comes as Sri Lanka and Cuba this year celebrated the 55th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Cuban Foreign Minister will hold discussions with President Mahinda Rajapaksa and External Affairs Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris.

The Sri Lankan government extended an invitation to the Cuban Foreign Minister when Minister Susil Premajayantha, as the President's Special Envoy, visited Cuba in February this year.

He is expected to place floral tributes at the Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte National War Memorial and to visit 'Ape Gama' - a replica of the villages of yesteryear in Sri Lanka established in Baattaramulla. (KH)
