    First Ever Combined Residential Training for Logistic Battalions Commences in Jaffna

    For the first time in Sri Lankan military history, full strength of all logistic battalions serving in one area were brought under one roof for a residential training by Headquarters Security force Jaffna (SF-J). Under this training programme, 5th Corps of Engineer Services (5 CES), 5th Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (5 SLASC), 4th Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (4 SLAMC), 5th Sri Lanka army Ordnance Corps (5 SLAOC), 4th Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (4 SLEME) and 4th Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (4 SLCMP) based at Kankesanthurai (KKS) commenced their training on November 7th at KKS.

    Inauguration of the training programme was held with the participation of Commander SF-J Major General Udaya Perera as Chief Guest and senior ground commanders of SF-J on Friday (07) at KKS. The course will end on November 12th.

     

    All ranks of those six logistics battalions were released from their routine duties which were temporarily taken over by other battalions facilitating training of 58 officers and 2127 other ranks.

     

    The programme organized on concept of Commander Security Force Jaffna (SF-J) Major General Udaya Perera aims at improving their leadership qualities and professionalism, instilling the sense of teamness, refreshing the knowledge on regimental duties and traditions and proper management of human and physical resources through which high productivity is expected.(KH)
