    Sri Lankan ICT Companies mark their presence at GITEX 2014 in Dubai

    Six Sri Lankan Information & Communication Technology (ICT) Companies, namely Brandix I3 ((PVT) Ltd., hSenid Software International, Microimage Pvt. Ltd., Negete (Pvt.) Limited, Pyxle (Pvt) Ltd. and AP Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. showcased their software products and services at “GITEX Technology Week” held from 12 to 16 October 2014 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) organized the country pavilion in coordination with the Sri Lanka Consulate General in Dubai.

     

     

     

    As an emerging knowledge hub in Asia, the Sri Lankan ICT sector is aggressively looking for business opportunities on a global scale. Sri Lankan ICT companies are exporting software products and services to regions such as North America, EU, Australia, East Asia, Middle East and Africa.  Their core competencies include automated application testing, infrastructure outsourcing, high end R & D, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Cloud Technology, Mobile Applications and many other Business Solutions.

     

     

     

    This year, 3,700 companies from 61 countries participated in this mega event, under the show’s four knowledge themes: smart, Cloud, Big Data and Mobility. Gitex Technology Week 2014 saw the debut of a series of conferences catering to more than 100,000 ICT professionals and 150 speakers, including Cloud Confex, Big Data Conference and Digital Strategies Forum.

     

     

     

    The Consul General of Sri Lanka in Dubai, Mr. M.M. Abdul Raheem, met the Sri Lankan participants at the Sri Lanka Pavilion and also hosted them to a dinner, along with members of Sri Lankan business community in Dubai. Mr. Farook Kassim, Chairman, Sri Lanka Business Council and other senior members attended the event. The Consul General said that Sri Lanka’s continued participation at GITEX Exhibition will help Sri Lankan ICT companies to penetrate the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, as Dubai is the gateway to this growing market.
