    Coconut Industry to be developed

    The capital of the Coconut Cultivation Board has been increased by 50 million rupees. A cess tax has been introduced for those exporting coconut as a raw material, The Ministry of Coconut Development revealed.

    The subsidy granted for coconut cultivation and re-cultivation has been increased from 7000 to 10,000 rupees while a subsidy of 20,000 rupees will be given for rehabilitation of coconut cultivations.

     

    According to the Ministry, it has also been proposed to increase the loan given under the Kapruka Loan Scheme from 100 thousand to three million rupees. (ST/KH)
