NSB celebrates its 42nd Anniversary in Matara Featured

The National Savings Bank celebrated its 42nd anniversary, expanding its services with the opening of the new 30 story building complex in the heart of the Matara town under the distinguished patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.


The NSB introduced three savings accounts, “Divisurekum, “Diriya Diyani” and “Buddhi” marking its anniversary. The President accepted the first deposits for these three accounts and presented mementos to the depositors.

President Rajapaksa also handed over a loan to veteran artist Bandula Nanayakkarawasam as a token of providing vehicle loans for artists.

Ministers Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, Dullas Alahapperuma, Governor of the Southern Province Kumari Balasuriya, Deputy Ministers Hemal Gunasekera, Sanath Jayasuriya and Chairperson of the National Savings Bank, W.A. Nalini were present on the occasion.
