    Office of the cabinet refutes media reports

    The Office of the cabinet announce that the president, as head of the cabinet of Ministers has drawn his attention to the news item published by the printed and Digital media today on matters discussed in the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held at Presidential Secretariat yesterday (16th October ) and the cabinet office completely deny facts stated in those news Items.

    Issuing a media release signed by the cabinet secretary S.Abeysinghe says that the agenda of the said Cabinet meeting was not included any Cabinet Memorandum related to infrastructure development projects which are proposed to implement by Indian Government or Indian Companies in Sri Lanka.

    Describing the discussion held with the Indian Prime Minister Hon. Narendra Modi, on bilateral issues relating to important regional and International affairs at the BIMSTEC Summit held at Nepal, the President emphasized the fact that long standing close relationship between India and Sri Lanka was further stabilized, it added .

    Mr. Abeysinghe further says that the Cabinet Office kindly request all media to enquire the Hon. ministers who are performing as Cabinet spokesman to verify the facts before publishing or telecasting news items on matters relating to cabinet discussions .
