ImageThe government has accelerated the resettlement of the internally displaced with the victims being resettled in their former places on a daily basis in family groups.

The process is being closely monitored by the Senior Presidential Adviser, Parliamentarian,Basil Rajapaksa who spearheads the Northern Task Force.

These families resettled will be provided with financial other assistance to re-start life and continue in their former places.

Plans are afoot to resettle nearly fifty thousand persons now living in welfare camps shortly in their homes in Jaffna.

Meanwhile, the government has sped up the demining process with additional men supplied by the military to ensure a mine free living ground for civilians to be resettled.

The LTTE has buried  thousands of mines in civilian areas as a strategy to prevent military advancement in the past.
