Iran's minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Dr.Daawood Danesh Jafarji has assured Sri Lanka of its continued support in the development of the island's economic social and cultural activities.

Dr. Jafari expressed this at a special meeting at Temple Trees with President Mahinda Rajapaksa to follow up on the 8 MOUs signed by President Rajapaksa with Iran on his recent to visit to that country. 

The two also discussed the impending visit of Iran's President to Sri Lanka and Iran's contribution towards oil drilling and refining and power generation here. Iran's Deputy Minister of Finance and special consultants and Sri Lanka's Minister of Tourism Milinda Moragoda and Secretaries to the Ministries of Finance and Power and Energy were also present during these discussions.
