The Ministry of Health and Mass Media has appointed new directors to 17 hospitals and health institutions, including Castle Street Hospital for Women, De Soysa Hospital for Women, Mahamodara Teaching Hospital, the National Eye Hospital, and Matara General Hospital.
Appointment letters were presented by Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa at a recent ceremony held at the Ministry.
The Minister said the government’s decisions are made with a long-term national vision rather than political interests, emphasizing that the focus is on strengthening Sri Lanka’s health system.
He noted that the recent appointments, along with earlier senior-level postings, are part of ongoing efforts to improve healthcare administration and service delivery across the country.
Officials said the new directors are expected to strengthen institutional performance and ensure better coordination within the health sector.
