‘LankaKonect’ Mobile App Launched to Support and Protect Sri Lankan Migrant Workers Worldwide

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) and the International Labour Organization (ILO), launched the ‘LankaKonect’ Complaint Management Mobile Application yesterday (15) to mark International Domestic Workers' Day

The moble application was officially launched by Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath at a ceremony in Colombo attended by Deputy Minister Arun Hemachandra, ILO Country Director Joni Simpson, diplomatic representatives, senior government officials, and other stakeholders.

Developed with technical support from Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), the free mobile application enables Sri Lankan migrant workers around the world to submit complaints, seek assistance, track case progress, and access important information and support services through a single digital platform.

The initiative integrates the complaint management systems of the SLBFE, the Ministry’s Consular Affairs Division, and Sri Lankan Missions abroad, improving coordination and ensuring faster and more effective responses to the concerns of migrant workers.

Available on both Google Play and Apple App Stores, LankaKonect reflects the Government’s commitment to digital transformation and the protection of the rights, welfare, and dignity of Sri Lankan migrant workers worldwide.
