No Change to 2026 A/L Exam Schedule, Education Ministry Clarifies

The Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education has clarified that the 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination, scheduled to commence on August 10, 2026, will not be postponed despite requests from various parties seeking a further delay.

According to the Ministry, the National Institute of Education (NIE) recommends 300 school days to adequately cover the Advanced Level curriculum. Students appearing for the 2026 examination will have completed 343 school days from the official commencement of academic activities up to August 7, 2026.

The Ministry also noted that candidates sitting the examination for the second or third time will have a preparation period of four months and ten days from the release of the previous examination results.

As sufficient time has been provided for candidates to prepare, the Ministry stated that there is no necessity to revise or postpone the scheduled examination period. The 2026 G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination will therefore proceed as planned from August 10, 2026.
