Upgraded Biomedical Engineering Services Centre Opens Tomorrow

The Ministry of Health and Mass Media will officially open the upgraded Biomedical Engineering Services Centre tomorrow (16) following a modernization project worth over Rs. 501 million funded by the Korea International Healthcare Foundation (KIHF).

The inauguration, to be led by Health Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, will also include the distribution of biomedical engineering equipment worth Rs. 228 million to provincial units in six provinces.

The project has enhanced the centre’s facilities, including a new auditorium for training and technical programmes, while strengthening biomedical engineering services nationwide through improved equipment, infrastructure, and capacity-building initiatives.

Senior government officials and representatives from Korean organizations, including KIHF, KOICA, KOTRA, and Korea Exim Bank, are expected to attend the ceremony.
