A discussion to review the progress of the “Prajashakthi” National Programme, implemented by the present government with the aim of empowering communities and ensuring the equitable distribution of economic benefits within society, was held this afternoon (30) at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of the Minister of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment, Mr Upali Pannilage.
The Ministry of Fisheries, Aquatic and Ocean Resources has stated that fuel stocks required for the fisheries sector will be carefully managed and supplied to the fishing community in light of the prevailing tensions in the Middle East.
A discussion on accelerating recovery measures and providing relief to those affected by the Cyclone Ditwah was held on March 28 at Temple Trees, with the participation of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and civil society organizations.
