    Constitutional Reforms Public sittings in 24 districts next month

    The Public Representation Committee on Constitutional Reforms will hold public sittings in 24 districts next month, to record oral and written submissions made to the committee by the public on the new constitution.

    A 20-member Committee was appointed with Cabinet approval to seek the views of the public. The first public sittings were held in Colombo last week.

     

    Public sittings will be held at District Secretariat offices on the following areas from 9.30 am to 4.30 p.m;

     

    Gampaha, Kandy - February 1 and 2 ,
    Matale - February 3 and 10,
    Kalutara, Vavuniya - February 5 and 6,
    Galle, Kilinochchi and Kegalle - February 8 and 9,
    Matara, Mannar - February 10 and 11
    Hambantota, Mullaitivu - February 12 and 13
    Kurunegala, Jaffna - February 15 and 16
    Anuradhapura, Puttalam - February 17 and 18
    Nuwara Eliya, Polonnaruwa - February 19 and 20
    Badulla, Trincomalee - February 23 and 24
    Moneragala, Batticaloa - February 25 and 26
    Ratnapura, Ampara - February 27 and 29


    The public who wish to make written or oral submissions during the sittings could do so from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm on the respective dates.
