The committee is presided by Minister of Power and Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya. Minister Susul Premajayantha, Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, Minister Chandima Weerakkodi, Minister Sagala Rathnayaka, Dep. Minister Ajith P. Perera, Dep. Minister Eran Wickremarathne are the committee members.

According to Minister Siyambalapitiya, the committee is responsible to find short and long-term solutions for the problems being faced by the power sector. Another report containing these recommendations will also be presented within three months.
