Intake of students for the new academic year will be increased by 10%, according to University Grants Commission (UGC).
UGC Chairman Prof. Mohan de Silva said, 27,603 students will be enrolled for various undergraduate courses conducted at 15 universities and 18 higher educational institutions for the new academic year.
“Last year the figure was 25,200 and therefore this is an increase of 10%,” he said.
