    Pakistan will continue to extend all out support to Sri Lanka: Envoy

    High Commissioner of Pakistan in Sri Lanka Major General (Retd.) Syed Shakeel Hussain said Pakistan has always been extending all out support to Sri Lanka including cooperation at multiple multilateral forums which Government of Sri Lanka has deeply appreciated at all levels.

    The High Commissioner said this while talking to an eleven member delegation of Pakistan National School of Public Policy currently visiting Sri Lanka on a five-day tour. The delegation comprising senior officers of civil services of Pakistan is being led by Mr. Naeem Aslam, Dean of the Institution.


    The High Commissioner said Pakistan and Sri Lanka have maintained close, cordial and mutually supportive relations since 1948. The relationship is broad-based and multifaceted covering diverse fields like diplomatic, political, commercial, defense, people to people contacts and cultural exchanges, he added


    The visit which started on 9th May 2016 aims to gain overview of the economic, domestic and foreign policies of Sri Lanka and to explore new spheres of mutual interest for enhancing mutual cooperation in diverse fields.


    National School of Public Policy is a premier institution for the study of public policy, management and related research and analysis in Pakistan with an aim to improve the quality of pre and in- service training and education of all those engaged in public service.


    The NSPP is also actively involved with the establishment of institutional linkages with reputed counterpart public policy institutions abroad.


    During the visit, the delegation members will call on Minister for Public Administration and Management Ranjith Madduma Bandara, besides visiting Board of Investment, Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Colombo Port, Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development, Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of Tooth), and Jinnah Hall Kandy.
