Showers or thunder showers are expected today (2nd June) at times in the Western, North-Western, Southern, Central, and Sabaragamuwa provinces and at several places in Mannar district.
According to the Met. Department, fairly heavy falls (about 75mm) are also likely at some places.
Meanwhile, showers or thunder showers are expected at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces today after 2.00 pm.
Strong winds could be expected at times over the country (particularly over Western slopes of the central hills) and surrounding sea area.
