Public Administration and Management Minister Ranjith Maddumabandara expressed these views at a discussion held at the Moneragala Technical College with the objective of promoting technical education in the region as a solution to the youth unemployment problem in the area.

He said improvement of technological education in the Moneragala district will enable the youth in the area to fulfill the targets required by the job market.

The government will introduce a voucher system for the benefit of students following vocational education to enable them to reach the their goals.

The Vocational Training Ministry Secretary said youth in the Moneragala district were lethargic in pursuing technical education.

The minister said the problem should be addressed by updating the courses conducted at the Technical Colleges at Moneragala, Bibile and Medagama.
