It said that showers or thundershowers will occur at most provinces of the island today (11th April) after 2.00 p.m.

Fairly heavy falls (above 50mm) can be expected at some places in the Western, Central, North-central, Uva and Eastern provinces today.

Temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers are expected and the public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning.

Meanwhile, today the sun will be directly over Kalpitiya, Kalaoya, Thalawa, Tirappane and Kathiraweli at about 12:11 noon.
