For the first time, since 1986 the automated sluice gates of the Victoria Dam is undergoing renovations.
Secretary to the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment, Nihal Rupasinghe said that renovation of the sluice gates of the Victoria Dam have commenced after thirty years and the water levels of the reservoir is being maintained at a low level due to these renovations.
He further said that the renovations will take approximately 2 months.
