    EDB clinches Asia's Best Employer Brand glory Featured

    Sri Lanka's apex export facilitator EDB has clinched a top global talent award and has also emerged as a pioneer Lankan public institution to win the coveted accolade.

    "The EDB has won Asia's Best Employer Brand Awards 2015 as recognition for the valuable contribution made by it to be the Most Sought After Employer. I am pleased to say that we won this award having competed with 33 countries," said Bandula Egodage, Chairman and CEO-EDB.

     

    EDB Chairman Egodage was addressing the EDB staff on August 16 at the special meeting to announce the achievement. Asia's Best Employer Brand Awards, hosted by the Employer Branding Institute, World HRD Congress and Stars of the Industry Group and endorsed by Asian Confederation of Businesses.

     

    The EDB was given the award at the 6th Asia Best Employer Brand Awards 2015 ceremony held in Singapore on August 12.

     

    "The EDB has won Asia's Best Employer Brand Awards 2015 as recognition for the valuable contribution made by it to be the most sought after Employer," said Bandula Egodage, Chairman and CEO-EDB addressing a special meeting of EDB employees to announce the achievement on August 16.

     

    "I am pleased to say that we won this award having competed with 33 countries and EDB is also the pioneering Lankan state institution to receive this award.

     

    The Airport and Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka was the only other Lankan state institution picked for this award apart from EDB. Apart from EDB's contribution to the national economy, the judges informed us that they have also perused EDB's talent/human resource retaining ratio and strategies, EDB's international exposure and e-marketing initiatives. Their observation was that there's a tremendous improvement in these aspects with SLEDB."

     

    Asia's Best Employer Brand Awards is considered among the most authoritative awards in the industry.
