    IGP extends a warm welcome to the New Navy Commander

    As a formality of the assumption of duties as the 20th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne paid a curtsey call on the Inspector General of Police Mr. N.K. Illangakoon, at the Police Headquarters yesterday (24), the Navy media reported.

    The Commander of the Navy was accorded a Guard of Honour on‍ arrival and warmly welcomed by the IGP. They exchanged views on matters of mutual interest during their cordial discussions. The IGP conveyed his best wishes to Vice Admiral Wijegunaratne on his new appointment and assured his fullest co-operation.

     

    Mementos were also exchanged to mark the occasion.
