The Education Ministry Pirivena Unit is accepting project proposals to allocate funds by the ministry for the development of pirivenas (Buddhist Monastic Colleges). About 750 registered pirivenas are located island-wide.
The Education Ministry will provide Rs. 260,000 to repair and improve infrastructure for this year.
Heads of Pirivenas can forward proposals to the Director, Pirivena Unit, Ministry of Education, Isurupaya, Battaramulla.
Information is available through the Additional Secretary for Policy Planning, and Performance Review S. U. Wijeratna of the ministry.
