    German Parliamentary Delegation met President

    President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday emphasised Sri Lanka’s immense commitment to safeguard the national security as well as regional security.

    Addressing a delegation of German Parliament, he said that the foreign policy of the government based on the principle that the relationship with one country should not have any adverse impact on another country.
    The delegation called on President Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday (7th April). The delegation comprised of the SDP Parliamentary Group Spokesman Niels Annen, Michael Donth, Caren lay and Prof Egon Juttner. The German Ambassador Dr. Jurgen Murhad also took part in the discussion.

     

    President recalling his recent visit to German thanked the Chancellor Angela Merkel, and the government and the people of Germany for the warm hospitality and friendship extended to him.

     

    During the discussions, President requested foreign assistance for technology training, water purification and other programs launched by the government to prevent Chronic Kidney Diseases.
