    SLAAS Annual Sessions commenced under the patronage of President

    The 72nd Annual Sessions of the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science (SLAAS) commenced under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena at the BMICH.


    The SLAAS established in 1944 with the aim to promote, support and foster scientific endeavor and technological innovation in an ethical, humane, and sustainable manner for the benefit of the people of Sri Lanka.


    The Annual Sessions of the SLAAS will create a platform for intellectual who do research in various fields, to present their discoveries as well as to hold open and broad dialogue on these issues. The 72nd Annual Sessions are being held under the theme: “Inter-disciplinarity in Research, Education and Practice for Advancing Science and Society.”


    The Scientific Sessions will be held from 7th- 9th December 2016 at the Faculty of Education, University of Colombo and the Theme Seminar will be held on 6th December 2016, at the Auditorium, ICTAD (Sausiripaya). National and international intellectuals will take part in these Sessions. President presented the awards to postgraduates and those professionals and amateurs who contributed to propagate science.


    Minister of Science, Technology and Research, Susil Premajayantha, Members of the SLAAS including its General President, Prof Manjula Vithanapathirana participated in this event.
