A discussion with relevant stakeholders on establishing a Single Window approval mechanism for Sri Lanka's film tourism sector was held yesterday (30) afternoon at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.

A discussion on the proposed 'Temple City' project, which aims to develop the area surrounding Beira Lake into an international tourism and cultural destination centred on the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple, was held yesterday (30) afternoon at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake.

The Special Cabinet Subcommittee and the Officials' Committee, appointed to take the necessary measures to address the potential impacts of the forthcoming El Niño climate phenomenon, held their inaugural meeting yesterday (30) at the Presidential Secretariat under the chairmanship of the Minister of Environment, Dr. Dammika Patabendi.

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed Rear Admiral Damian Fernando, who served as Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy, as the 27th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, promoting him to the rank of Vice Admiral.
