There are 440 divisions in Kegalle and each division will have 20 home gardens. Each home garden will receive vegetable seeds and five fruit plants. The program will cover 11 Divisional secretariat divisions of Kegalle District.

Ministry of Agriculture together with the Department of Agrarian Services will develop home gardens in Kegalle as a pilot project. Already 8800 home gardens have been selected for the program.
