Winds will be South-westerly and speed will be 20-40 kmph.
The sea area extending from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota will be fairly rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 50 kmph at times.

Showers, Thundershowers expected in sea areas from 2pm to 8pm

Showers will occur at few places in the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Matara via Colombo and Galle. Isolated showers or thundershowers can be expected in the other sea areas during the period from 2 pm to 8 pm, the Met Dept. says.
