Sri Lanka and Serbia have discussed further strengthening their longstanding friendship and bilateral cooperation during talks between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra and Serbian State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Damjan Jović in Belgrade.
The discussions focused on expanding cooperation in economic relations, trade and investment, education, employment, sports and the digital economy, among other areas of mutual interest.
The two sides also explored opportunities to strengthen links between businesses and institutions through international exhibitions and business platforms, with the aim of identifying new trade and investment opportunities.
They further discussed establishing a more formal mechanism for bilateral political consultations, which would help deepen political relations and identify new areas for practical cooperation.
Both sides expressed their commitment to expanding Sri Lanka-Serbia cooperation into new areas for the mutual benefit of the two countries and their peoples.
