Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and visiting US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo held discussions   (28 October 2020) at the Foreign Ministry, covering several areas of the multifaceted relationship which exists between Sri Lanka and the United States. The discussions followed those with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa earlier in the morning.

Tuesday (27) afternoon saw one more session of Task Force members of the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) got underway at the NOCPCO premises, co-chaired by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Head, NOCPCO, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army and acting Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr S. Shridharan and attended by a handful of experts, Medical Specialists and other stakeholders in the health sector.
