The government has taken steps to rehabilitate the Dambana Indigenous Folk Heritage Centre and to increase the monthly grant from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 125,000 for the promotion of cultural sources affecting their general livelihood.
It is being accepted as a policy that the government’s patronage is required for the sustainable existence of indigenous people. The Cabinet has approved the proposal made in this regard by S.B. Navinna, Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs,
